Principal's Message

Greetings Wagon Wheel Community,

Welcome to our 2017-2018 school year!  At Wagon Wheel Elementary, we believe in the three R's:  Rigor, Relevance & Relationships.  We believe it is essential to plan rigorous first instruction lessons, design projects that are relevant, and promote a safe environment where students, staff, and parents build positive relationships in order to increase student achievement.

As a team, we act on these beliefs by engaging in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) using data to make informed decisions about instruction and by providing multi-tiered levels of support.  Last year, our site leadership team worked vigorously to collect stakeholder feedback to redesign our school's mission statement:  Transforming the next generation of empowered students by fostering innovation and creating a culture of learning.  This mission will guide our collective commitments as we continue to implement researched-based strategies such as CGI (Cognitively Guided Instruction), PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Systems), and PBL (Project Based Learning) into our daily instructional practice.

Additionally, we collaborate with all stakeholders by providing opportunities to volunteer, participate in School Site Council, and join PTA.  As a community, I am confident that we will partner together to support the academic, personal, and social growth of all our students.

I look forward to meeting all of our students and parents on the first day of school as we kick-off the 2017-2018 school year.  Go-o-o-o-o-o Mustangs!

Respectfully yours,

Jean Grabowski

Principal
