Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

As this school year comes to a close, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the many important aspects of our school community that have made such a difference. Our year began with our staff identifying important learning goals for students. Through diligence, dedication and a commitment to excellence, we have created a learning environment where each individual student was able to reach his potential.  In the process, we have modeled and taught Wagon Wheel children the importance of taking their learning seriously, becoming responsible, caring citizens in our society and giving back to each other and our community. In our classroom learning experiences, through the Destination Imagination challenge, as students and their families donated their locks to benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, as students met reading goals supported by our PTA’s Book Fair and as evidenced by many other meaningful learning activities, our school has provided students with the opportunity to learn, grow and meet success.

Through the support of our incredible parent volunteers, our classrooms and educational program as a whole, are richly supplemented. Each lesson, activity, project, assembly and event that students participate and engage in is enhanced due to the incredible time, energy, effort and giving nature of our parents. Through the help and support of our parents, both at home and at school, our students and teachers are able to make the most of each learning day. For that, we recognize that we are truly blessed and are grateful. Thank you, Wagon Wheel parents!

Finally, the greatest reward of all is being able to interact with our students each day. Not only have we identified their individual learning styles, but we have come to know them personally. We recognize the positive attributes, gifts and uniquenesses of each. We take great pride and pleasure in having established meaningful relationships with our students that will be evident for a lifetime. On a daily basis, we are reminded of why we chose the career of educating children. We are reminded of the importance of what we do. Your children have given back to us, each and every day. We thank you for allowing us to take them in our care and make a difference in their lives. It is truly our good fortune.

We wish all our families a wonderfully relaxing, restful, safe and fun summer. We look forward to seeing you in the fall for yet another incredible year!

Sincerely,

Kathy Parker, Principal
